The topic I am looking to find information on is headaches. The reason I chose headaches as the topic for my virtual library is that I have found that many people do not actually know what type of headache they have when they get one and they also don’t know what treatments are available for their specific headaches. For this reason they are often misdiagnosed. The types of headaches I wanted to cover consist of the Cluster Headache, the Migraine and the Tension Headache. Within these categories I wanted information about Symptoms, Treatments and Case Studies.

I initially began my search using a search engine called Hotbot. The reason I chose this search engine is that it has given me the required information in the past. I found this search engine on the Netscape Homepage. The second search engine I used was the dogpile meta search which is actually a combination of search engines. This meta search finds the top 10 matches for each individual search engine.

HOTBOT search: In the search textbox I inserted the word headache. I received 43810 matches, which is far too many to sort through. The matches were also not exactly what I was looking for.
